FAQs
How are ultrasounds and echocardiograms performed?
An abdominal ultrasound is performed with your pet laying on their back in a soft and padded bed. An echocardiogram is performed with your pet lying on their side on a soft bed.
All ultrasounds and echocardiograms are performed in a dimly lit room. For abdominal ultrasounds your pet's abdomen will be shaved, for an echocardiogram either side of the chest will be shaved.
What if my pet is anxious?
For anxious pets there are options to send home oral sedatives before the procedure or for them to receive light sedation at the time of their scan.
Radiographs can be submitted for both services to be used in combination with the procedure to help reach a better diagnosis.
