If your pet appears to be in distress or is showing signs of a health emergency, contact us immediately. We ask pet parents to call us at (630) 882-6060 when on the way to our animal hospital so we can prepare an exam room and any necessary equipment.

Expecting the unexpected can save your pet’s life. If your pet appears to be in distress or is showing signs of a health emergency, our team will do whatever is needed to accommodate you and your pet during our office hours. When time is of the essence, we aim to be as efficient as possible in providing emergency care.

When our office is closed, we recommend the following hospital:

Emergency Indicators - Signs that your pet is having an emergency may include any of the following:

  • Choking/difficulty breathing

  • Rapid/irregular heart beat

  • Seizures

  • Loss of consciousness

  • Pale nose and/or gums

  • Heavy bleeding

  • Elevated temperature (heatstroke)

  • Possible broken bones, internal injury

  • Unable to eliminate

  • Chronic vomiting, diarrhea

  • Blood in stool and/or vomit

  • Uncontrollable shaking

  • Foaming at the mouth

  • No appetite

  • Weight loss
